Another Summer Update
I’m gonna get real w y’all. I have felt burnt out this summer. Burnt out by rejection, burnt out by lack of time, lack of funds, etc. Overwhelmed with the things I need to do. Because of this, you may have noticed that I have been super MIA from all things prickly pear as of late.
Seasons like this are normal. Doing what you love is not always going to be rainbows & unicorns. It’s funny because, to me, the prickly pear is so much more than a little passion project business. The prickly pear is a facet of how I want to reach my generation for Jesus. I want people to encounter our coffee, or experience our yoga classes and walk away feeling loved. I want to debunk the harmful, hurtful misconceptions my generation has about Christianity. I want this company to be all-inclusive, all-loving, all supportive. I want it to turn into a physical space where my team can serve and love others well. The future of Prickly Pear that has been on my heart since I was 13 is far beyond a mobile espresso bar or a sweet little business. The Prickly Pear that is on my heart will be a catalyst for change.
That being said, while I work to achieve this goal (part of that work is getting a college degree) there will be up & down seasons. But it’s not about me or my emotions, and part of running this business successfully will be expanding the team, having gals in it w me. Gals who are pursuing the Lord, who is passionate about my dream, and who will pick up the pieces when I feel less than.
On that note, I am so so excited and blessed to announce that I have hired an amazing financial director, Amaia Van Tol, a baller business manager, Audrey Akins, and a talented event barista, Grace Blair. I am so excited for what is to come this year, and I am so thankful for y’all’s support! Every online store purchase, social media comment/like, event inquiry, etc — makes it all so so worth it
We will be back accepting events after Labor Day - feel free to DM or email with any inquiries! Have a great day, you are so loved!
